Shortlisted for MAT of the Year

We are delighted to share that Abbey Multi Academy Trust has been shortlisted for “MAT of the Year (Small)” in the 2026 MAT Excellence Awards.

This national recognition celebrates trusts that deliver exceptional impact, innovation and excellence — and being shortlisted is a testament to the collective hard work, dedication, and passion of every colleague across our Trust.

The judges recognised the Trust’s:

• Consistently strong school improvement, demonstrated by all of our academies rated Good in all areas by Ofsted
• Sector-leading oracy practice across all our academies, including three Centres of Excellence
• Carbon net-zero electricity operations, supported by over £6m investment in sustainability
• Thriving people-first culture, underpinned by our People Strategy, coaching model, and wellbeing commitments

• Exceptional community and inclusion work, including Schools of Sanctuary accreditation across the Trust

This achievement belongs to every member of staff — your commitment to our mission to work in Partnership to Educate, Nurture and Empower is what has made this possible.

Thank you for everything you do each day. We look forward to the awards ceremony in June!
